A Wonderful Christian Womens Ministry

Ladies here is a wonderful Christian ministry called Alabaster Box. Author D.L. McCarragher has writen a wonderful book titled Mission Possible a a book of encouragement for women who come to know the Lord in their marriage first… This book will discuss the ups and downs of being married to someone who doesn’t share your passion for Jesus. Living in peace with God and your spouse is essential to keeping your joy intact and your hope alive. This short book is an “easy read”, but has much to say! You will want to read it over and over again!

Submit Yourselef To The Elder

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We Must Not Keep God’s Blessing To Ourselves. We Must Share It With Joy.

‘Be still, and know that I am God…Shout to God with loud songs of joy’(Psalm 46:10; Psalm 47:2). In our worship, there is to be both quiet trust and loud praise. We read the great words: ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble’(Psalm 46:1). God’s Word brings peace – ‘in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength’. We must not keep God’s blessing to ourselves. We must share it with joy – ‘Sing to the Lord…let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare His praise in the coastlands’(Isaiah 30:15; Isaiah 42:10-12). The Lord is to be ‘exalted among the nations’. He is not only ‘our King’. He is ‘the King of all the earth’(Psalm 46:10; Psalm 47:6-7). ‘Father (Jesus/Spirit), we love You. We worship and adore You. Glorify Your Name in all the earth’(Mission Praise, 142).

The Fruit Of Compromise

Jesus spoke of the man who built his house on solid foundation vs. the man that built his house on sand. One was built on rock solid foundation, while the other was not. Jesus went on to say that the house built on the solid foundation could withstand difficult times, that the winds could blow and the house would remain, but that the house built on sand would not stand and great would be the fall of it. Just imagine the endless situations and circumstances that this application could apply to.

Sometimes it's possible to start out on solid foundation and slowly be moved to unstable foundation. One way for this to happen is through compromise. We all occasionally compromise, however if we continue to walk in compromise it can cause a shift and that shift can lead to unstable grounds.

When this happens, we must examine situations, ourselves, and the path that we have taken. For it's easy to get off course in today's world.

There are blessings found in the straight and narrow.

Balloon Saga Potential Hoax

I'm sure that you watch the balloon that came loose and everyone thought that a boy was inside of it. The ordeal was shown on nationwide television a few weeks ago as the balloon traveled some 20 plus miles at 3,000 plus feet high. It was quite a sight to see on television, especially with the potential that a small young boy might have been in the balloon.

Well according to recent news reports online, apparently the whole situation may have been a hoax right from take off. Apparently the mother of the 6 year old boy that once feared that the boy was missing inside a runaway helium balloon admitted the whole saga was a hoax according to the article.

It just goes to show you the emotional power of nationwide television because as this odeal was first shown on television millions around the country and possibly the world were convinced that a young boy was in that balloon. For me, regardless of what was, I'm just glad that he wasn't indeed in that balloon. Hats off to all the local authorities that chased that balloon down and brought it safely back to earth the whole time having great concern that a boy might be in the helium balloon. They are the true hero's.

Fantastic Christian Reading Materials

Do you like great Christian reading materials filled with wisdom, insight and scriptural applications? Over the years I have read many different publications, books, magazines and online studies. It amazes me how much great reading there is to enjoy.

One site and publication that really helped me put things into perspective over the years is RCB Ministries. They have these fantastic little booklets called Our Daily Bread that are filled with great reading and stories that are very encouraging.

You'll love spending time overlooking their website and I encourage you to read Our Daily Bread.

Ancient Greek Gods, Societies & History

I'm sure you've study a little history on the Ancient Greek Gods. It's actually a fun study to look into and it definitely gives you an overview on ancient societies and ancient history of some of the cultures of the world. There is so much history when it comes to mankind that to study it all could take a lifetime. Just imagine living 1,000 years ago, or even in the days of Christ.

I love to read the Bible which shares accounts clear back to creation in the book of Genesis when the Lord God formed man from the dust of the earth. We all know the story of Adam and Eve. The Bible is filled with history, accounts, life and matters that pertain to eternal life. Let me encourage you to add the Bible to your studies daily. For within the scriptures are some of the most important things you will ever read.

Blessings, and remember God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus to die for the sins of the world.

Psalm 9 - Praise God For His Deliverance (Part Three).

We must take seriously the radical contrast between the “wicked” and the “needy.” - "The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God. But the needy will not always be forgotten,
nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish" (vs. 17-18).

Who are the “needy”? – Here, God’s Word is speaking to us of the godly who recognize their spiritual need of the Lord’s saving grace. By contrasting the “wicked” and the “needy”, God is calling us to come to Him, in our need, and receive, from Him, his salvation.
There are two prayers which we must pray.
We must ask that God will make it known that He is Lord - "Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence" (v. 19)..

We must ask that we will recognize that we are “but men.” - "Strike them with terror, O LORD;
let the nations know they are but men" (v. 20).

When we recognize that God is God and we are but men, we are ready to be led to the Cross where we learn of both God’s hatred of sin and God’s love for the sinner.
Thus, we come to the point where we are able to share, with the Psalmist, in worshipping the Lord - "I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High" (vs. 1-2).
We worship God as those who have come to trust in Him as the God of our salvation -"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you" (vs. 9-10).
Trusting in the Lord, the God of our salvation, our worship is heartfelt worship - "I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart" (v. 1).
Trusting in the Lord, the God of our salvation, our worship is joyful worship - "I will be glad and rejoice in you" (v. 2).

Psalm 9 - Praise God For His Deliverance (Part Two).

We read about God’s trustworthiness - "The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you" (vs. 9-10).
We praise God. We make it known that He is to be praised - "Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done" (v. 11).
In our worship, we speak of God’s judgment as well as His salvation - "For He who avenges blood remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted" (v. 12).
In our worship, we look to the Lord for mercy and, with joy, we praise Him for His salvation - "O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, that I may declare your praises in the gates of the Daughter of Zion and there rejoice in your salvation" (vs. 13-14).
As well as emphasizing that God is trustworthy, we must also emphasize that He is not to be taken for granted by proud unbelief - "The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden. The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hand" (vs. 15-16).

Psalm 9 - Praise God For His Deliverance (Part One).

* The Psalmist worships the Lord - I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.  I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High" (vs. 1-2).

* He does not speak proud words. He sees all things in the light of the holy God - "My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously. You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. The LORD reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment. He will judge the world in righteousness;
he will govern the peoples with justice" (vs. 3-6).

* At the heart of this Psalm, there is a declaration of the character of God - "The LORD reigns forever; He has established his throne for judgment. He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the peoples with justice" (vs. 7-8).
* The majesty, righteousness and judgment of God – Have we lost these important aspects of God’s character? Have we turned God into a sentimentalized ‘god’ of our own making?
Let’s not take God for granted. Let God be God. This is very different from insisting that God must be what we think He should be.

America Must Do Something

I must admit that I'm at a loss. We have NASA which accomplishes great things. We have technology that is flat out amazing. Our military is the most powerful well equipped military in the world. The world looks to America for many things and to help solve many problems. Yet, we can't safeguard our citizens and our children from drugs, gangs and the violence, death and destruction they cause.

In the blink of an eye, we can ship men off to war, prepare entire battle plans and engage an enemy with strategic force, yet we can't end illegal drugs. We are able to put satellites into orbit, but we can't end illegal drugs.

I just wonder why? Why can America accomplish such great things, however America can't stop the flow of illegal drugs into our country? I'm praying for a drug free America and for our children's future, free from drugs, gangs, violence, and the death and destruction they cause. America, wake up.

Bad Hair Days & Frying Pans

There's nothing worse than bad hair day people. People that are always looking for some dramatic situation to unfold to make their day seem worth wild. People that are always gossipping about the latest, meddling in other peoples affairs, pointing fingers at others, judging and creating drama. I just don't understand that mind set. As if peace, happiness and joy escape them. What kind of life is that?

Life is beautiful, it is wonderful and it is filled with wonder. Yes, there are those days, weeks and sometimes seasons, but why with intent create difficulties and hardships. Why light the fire, place the skillet on it and jump into the skillet. And the worst part, why expect others to jump into the skillet with you.

Trade your bad hair day mentality in for days of peace, balance, and sound mind.

Your Shall Know Them & They Shall Know You By Fruits

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

There Is Power In The Words That We Speak To Others

Encouragement goes along ways. It helps people overcome feelings of loss, hopelessness, depression and can press through sad times. Encouragement is like medicine that stirs the depths of us to press forward, overcome and find victory.

Sometimes just the simplicity of saying "everything will be alright" or "your going to do great" can make all the difference in the world. Encouragement is an extension of the very fruits of the spirit, an extension of love and compassion and is a powerful seed that when sown can produce great fruit in the lives of others.

Be an encourager and sow seeds that are fruitful.

God Is Speaking To Us. He Speaks To Us Of Jesus Christ. He Calls Us To Come To Christ.

God reveals Himself in creation and Scripture. He speaks through His created world. He speaks through His written Word. God is always speaking. He is never silent. Through His created world, God is speaking to us – every day, every night. He is showing us His glory (Psalm 19:1-2). He makes us aware of His presence. He whets our appetite for His written Word. The Scriptures lead us to Christ. Through faith in Him, we receive salvation (2 Timothy 3:15). Christ is the high-point of God’s revelation. He is the living Word (John 1:1,14). The testimony of the Psalmist – ‘The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul’(Psalm 19:7) – becomes real for us through faith in Christ – ‘I came to Jesus…My soul revived and now I live in Him’(Church Hymnary, 540). Make it real. Come to Christ. Come alive in Him!

Carefully Choose The Right Path & Foundation

Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

The Next President Of The United States

Who will be the next President Of The United States? Will Obama seek a second term and if so would the American people put him back in the White House? Will Hillary Clinton run again or possible the gal from Alaska? What will the country look like by that time? Will America's economy have recovered? Will all the US Troops be out of Iraq and what of Afghanistan? Will the stock market be strong or still encountering problems? Will all the bail outs have rescued the American Economy of will the American people find themselves in a depression? What does and will the future bring. Of lately things seem very uncertain with all the financial matters that have unfolded. Who knows what the future will bring.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

California Fires, Rain & Mudslides

Oh my if it rains this winter this state just might be in for some wet, muddy times. With all the recent fires and countless acres burnt all we need is some heavy rain this winter and the hill sides will be sliding all over the place. This could also lead to potential flooding, damaged homes and evacuations. At the very least we Californians as Arnold would say should prepare for the just in case. Somehow I believe that is the wise thing to do.

Shopping Carts Gone Wild

Have you ever been there? You're at the grocery store and the parking lot is full of stray shopping carts. Why? Well that's because the last person that used the cart didn't take the time to put it in the secure area designed for shopping carts. Rather that taking the time to return the shopping cart, they just left it sitting by the car.

Rewards shall be given and rewards taken away, so the scriptures say. Take the time to put the shopping cart away and be a blessing to others that visit the grocery store in your community. Besides, what goes around comes around and you just might save your car from a ding in the door.

We all reap what we sow, and blessings are found in being responsible.

Life Slate Video

Just imagine standing before a righteous God, having your entire life played before you like a video, and being judged and held accountable for all the wrongs, mistakes, lies and sins you've committed. Just imagine your eternity hanging in the balance as you watched, as even you saw sin after sin that you have committed right before your eye's, many of which you have long forgotten.

Thank God the Father, for His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Thank God the Father, that Jesus paid the price for all of our sins when He died on the cross. Thank God that our debts have been paid, that Christ bore our sins and that through Him, through confession, that He is just and faithful to forgive us. Thank God for His perfect plan of redemption.

Easy Steps To Repentance

Repentance made simple: Confess your sins before God, and change course. You don't need to turn a sin into a major ordeal, just admit it, take responsibility for it and change course. For example if you've wronged someone, simply say I'm sorry, ask them for their forgiveness and treat them with love and respect. God will do the rest.

Blessings are found in repentance.

When God's Plans Are Hindered

Have you ever been there. Watching something unfold that was not suppose to happen. Sometimes our inability to listen and stubbornness brings forth the complete opposite of what God had planned. Other times we become surrounded by others that make so much noise that when God speaks we can't hear and don't listen.

The outcomes can be either blessings or curses, and sometimes seasons of time to change course that are like walking up a steep hill.

We should never quench God's Spirit, hinder His plans and purposes or turn our ears to His Words.

When Deep Inside Somethings Wrong

We occasionally encounter those days that affect us. They affect our happiness, our personalities, our character and some times others around us. Depression is occasionally a part of life, unfortunately. However when misery and unhappiness becomes a daily routine, somethings wrong, drastically wrong. Many times within this we easily blame others for our unhappiness or we adapt that if only I could, or if only life was attitude.

The truth is that there is something wrong and that something is found deep inside of us. Yes, we can blame others and take on that pity party attitude. We can apply that but if only mindset, however the truth is that we need to look within us, deep within us, because somethings missing. You see, we were not created to live a life of sadness, misery and unhappiness. Life is not suppose to be ruled by these emotions and problems.

If you're dealing with daily misery and can't find happiness. Is it possible that what's truly missing is God in your life?

God can meet all your needs.

Through The Power Of The Holy Ghost

It's a fun and very informative Bible study. Where there is laughter, heaviness ceases. Where there is joy, depression flees. Where joy and laughter are found, sadness is not.

And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The Fruit Of Patience

I love to rest in God. Life comes with many different challenges and sometimes those challenges can overwhelm us. Over the years I've learned a very important fruit of the Spirit. Patience! Within such, I've learned to rest in God, to not respond so quickly or become easily offended by situations. I simply take a deep breath and start praying when situations arise. When we rest in God, we find God's peace, wisdom and counsel flowing and that simply calms the storms. It helps us to put things into perspective.

Let me encourage you to rest in God when things seem to overwhelm you. Remember, yesterday is gone, today is here, and tomorrow will take care of it's self. Allow Jesus to calm the storms, and allow the Holy Spirit to minister peace to you.

Blessings are found in resting in God.

Traveling The Roads Of The Christian Walk

As we come to know God and His ways, our walk with God and as a Christian goes through many seasons and challenges. We encounter many of the same situations and circumstances in life that we did prior to becoming a Christian. The difference is that as the seasons unfold hopefully we mature and character comes forth, as we look at and see things differently. The old man starts to pass away and as new creations in Christ, the birthing process unfolds.

Sometimes we fall back into old patterns, however as the holy Spirit brings conviction to us, we find ourselves seeking the forgiveness and direction of a loving Savior. It is written that Jesus will complete the good work that He has begun in us. Now that's good news, knowing that Christ will never leave us or forsake us, and that our precious Lord is always there to hold our hand and lead us in the ways of righteousness.

Thank God that we have such a loving, compassionate and forgiving Savior.

Things That God Hates

We all know that God is a God of love. That He is full of mercy, compassion, truth, righteousness and forgiveness. A question? Is God capable of hate? Does God hate evil or wickedness?

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Mysterious, Weird, Strange Things

I think it would be fair to say that the Bible is filled with some mysterious, weird, and strange things. I could list many many scriptures that you might agree with me on. But to save some time how about chariots of fire, an axe head floating in water, a man named Elijah that killed 100's of men with a knife no bigger than a kitchen knife, the dead coming back to life, people drinking Jesus's blood, the sons of God that came from heaven to earth, saw that the daughters of men were fair, took of them, came into them and produced giants in the land, angels appearing in human form, a woman being turned to a rock of salt, and on and on ...

I love reading the Bible and I think back to those seasons when I devoured it day after day. It is the most interesting book I have ever read. It is also the most life changing book I have ever read.

Blessings are found in the pages of the Bible.

Have you ever noticed how a spider will spin a web to catch it's next victim? They carefully spin the web in just the right place and then sit and wait for the catch. Have you ever watched a pack of wolves stalk it's prey?

It is the same with the sheep being the flock of God. There's strength and safety in numbers, however if as a sheep you stray off all alone, you just might find yourself not only being guarded and protected within the flock, but falling prey to the wolves.

If you're like me, you like fast cars. There's just something about racing that holds my interest. You see, I use to race professionally and I remember those times at various race tracks. It was fun, a lot of fun. It's one thing to race fast cars at local and national race tracks and it's another thing to live your life in the fast lane. Before you know it, you can get burnt out.

If your at that place of burn out in life or ministry, let me encourage you to slow down and enjoy life. God never intended for you to get burnt out, but to run the race well, to persevere and to be victorious. It's God's Will that you win and have abundant life in the process.

The Word Of God - Our Pure And Trustworthy Guide

Reading the words of the Psalmist, “The words of the Lord are pure words” (Psalm 12:6), brought to mind the words of the Apostle Paul – “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst” (1 Timothy 1:15). God’s Word is pure. God’s Word is trustworthy. Take these two thoughts together. We think of the perfection of God’s Word. Let’s also give thanks for His perfect love. there is no love like the love of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. He loves us with the greatest love of all. There can be nothing more perfect than this – the love of Jesus. Where do we learn of His love? We learn of His love as we read God’s Word – “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so”, I am so glad that my Father in heaven tells of His love in the Book He has given. Wonderful things in the Bible I see. This is the greatest that Jesus loves me” ... As we receive mercy from the Lord, we rejoice in His trustworthiness. Deeply conscious of our sin, which He so graciously forgives, we become deeply conscious of His holiness, and we bow before Him in worship. The greatness of His holiness and the greatness of His mercy – the two belong together. They remind us that we, who haven saved by grace, are called to holiness. In our journey along “the High Way of Holiness” (Isaiah 35:8), we have the Word of God as our pure and trustworthy guide.

Construction That Stands The Weathers Of Time

They key is reading, knowing, understanding and holding onto the sayings of Jesus.

Blessings, in Christ and His Words.

Cartoon Shows

My daughter loves her cartoon shows. Daily she watches them and sits quietly taking in all the images and sounds. Sometimes she laughs and laughs, other times she's just intently watching, and other times she's dancing to the songs. As the years have passed her mother and I have noted that she acts out some of the cartoon characters, has picked up some of the sayings and even names her dolls and bears after some of the cartoon characters and then there are the songs which she has learned and sings from time to time. She's only 5 years old.

Now imagine a teenager free to watch and view whatever television program or movie that's on the television or cable?

Do you know what you're kids are watching on television?

Blessings, and watch over them with care.

Special Thanks To Our Friends

Thank you to all the wonderful people that have been lifting this ministry up to the Lord in prayer. Your prayers are deeply appreciated and we are so thankful. May the Lord bless each of you richly in all things and may He give you the very desires of your heart.

God bless!

“By Grace You Have Been Saved Through Faith”

It is by grace you have been saved through faith” (Ephesians 2:8). By grace, we are in Christ. Through faith, we are in Christ.

* “He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock” – This is grace.

* “Rock opf ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee” – This is faith.

Grace and faith belong together.

- We are not saved by grace apart from faith.

- We are saved by grace through faith.

The grace of God reaches us as we receive Jesus Christ in faith.

- We are not saved by faith apart from grace.

- We are saved by grace through faith.

Faith has no meaning in itself. Faith finds its meaning only in relation to the grace of God. Faith is God’s way for us to come to Him through our Lord Jesus Christ.

By grace you have been saved through faith” – This is the Christian’s unshakeable foundation. With this unshakeable foundation, the Christian can face the attacks of the enemy with confidence.

God’s Way of Salvation (Psalm 11)

Let's Feed On God's Word (Revelation 10:1-11:19).

‘Take the little scroll and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey’ (10:9). We are to feed on God’s Word - the difficult parts as well as those passages which make us feel good. God’s Word speaks about judgment as well as salvation. Before we can rejoice in ‘the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ’, we must hear about His ‘wrath’: ‘The time has come for judging the dead’ (15,18). ‘Sweet and sour’: We need both for a balanced diet of God’s Word. We need the ‘sour’ - ‘It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God’ - as well as the ‘sweet’ - ‘God so loved the world...’ (Hebrews 10:31; John 3:16). The ‘sour’ - ‘Flee from the wrath to come’ - creates a hunger for the ‘sweet’ - ‘the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world’ (Matthew 3:7; John 1:29).

The Root Of All Evil

It is written and said that money is the root of all evil. Imagine that. We put it in banks, invest it, spend it, borrow it, pay interest on it, keep it in jars, our wallets and our pockets. Yet money is the root of all evil.

Note that it's not the seed, but the root. Fuel for thought.

Feeding on Jesus - The Bread Of Life

Jesus said, ‘I am the Bread of Life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst’(John 6:35). Jesus had enemies - ‘The Jews then murmured at Him, because He said, “I am the bread which comes down from heaven”’(John 6:41). Christ’s enemies are still with us. They ‘murmur among themselves’(John 6:43). How are we to respond to this situation? We must feed on Jesus Christ, ‘the Living Bread’(John 6:51). Whatever difficulties we may face, the Lord provides for us: ‘You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies’(Psalm 23:5). We have His invitation: ‘O taste and see that the Lord is good!’(Psalm 34:8). With His provision and invitation, let us make our response: ‘We taste Thee, O Thou living Bread, and long to feast upon Thee still’(Church Hymnary, 571).

"God's Not Dead. He Is Alive." - "Our God Is Marching On."

In an earlier version of his notes on Genesis (written in 1960 and re-issued in 1970), George Philip offered a thought-provoking contrast between the first verse of Genesis - "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1) and the final verse of Genesis - "Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt" (Genesis 50:26).

He calls us to "remember, it was Joseph who was in the coffin, and not God. God buries his workmen, but carries on His work."

Let's Stop Running Away From God.

Psalm 139:7-8

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

-----

We can run away from God, but we can't get away from Him!

Let's stop running away from God.

Even when we're "a great way off", He is running out to meet us (Luke 15:20).

He loved us long before we ever thought of loving Him - "When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son" (Romans 5:10).

Keeping The Slate Clean

Just because something seems one way doesn't always mean that's the way it is. Yes, we can let things go and for a time it may appear as if it simply doesn't exist. Yet as time passes we find that it does exists.

Better to take care of unfinished business and keep the slate clean. Remember God's forgiveness is always available.

Prayer, Intercession, Giving Thanks

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

1Ti 2:7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not; a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Those Cloudy Mucky Days

Sometimes life seems picture perfect and other times it seems cloudy and mucky. There are great days, good days and well those days that just seem to be going no where.

That's when taking a deep breath, re thinking things and simply taking a hard look at things helps put things into perspective.

It's always better to look at things with a clear mind, through clear eye's and less all the frustrations and emotions.

Breath Deeply!

" ... The World Is Ever Near ... But, Jesus, Draw Thou Nearer ... "

In Solomon, we see strength and weakness. He was strong - ‘the House of the Lord was completed’ (2 Chronicles 8:16). He was also weak. He was infatuated with foreign women, who did not belong among the redeemed people of God. He married ‘Pharaoh’s daughter’, a woman who had no love for ‘the holy places’ of worship (2 Chronicles 8:11). To the queen of Sheba, a woman who had more love for ‘her own land’ than for life among the people of God, ‘Solomon gave all that she desired’ (2 Chronicles 9:12). Solomon was a complicated man. He had a real love for the Lord, yet the world still had a strong hold on him. “O let me feel Thee near me: the world is ever near; I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear; My foes are ever near me, around me and within; but, Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin.’

Words That You Can Depend Upon

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Difficult Times Nationally

It seems that our nation is encountering some difficult and challenging times. Of course from a prophetic perspective the prophets are prophesying good times, seasons of abundance and so on. Yet when one looks at the seasons past, the current season and the seasons to come. One see's the word of God coming to pass.

Yes, times are difficult, challenging and the course is set.

Be wise saints of God, be wise. The prophetic time clock as mentioned in the Word of God is ticking.

The Model Of The Lord

Funny how human beings come up with models for various ministries within the body of Christ. These models usually come with rules, the precepts of men and are very religious, sometime almost cultish.

The model of the Lord however, is love and a basic understanding of that love through experience and application of the scriptures.

As We Worship God, We Receive Wisdom And Strength.

‘Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised’(Psalm 48:1). We worship God in the place of worship - ‘Within Your Temple, O God, we meditate on Your unfailing love’. Our worship must not end there. We are to play our part in seeing that the praise of the Lord ‘reaches to the ends of the earth’. We are to ‘be glad’ in the Lord. We are to ‘rejoice’ in Him (Psalm 48:9-11). We must not keep this joy to ourselves. The Lord is ‘the joy of all the earth’. We must share His joy. We are to ‘tell the next generation’. How will they know if we do not tell them? Many are slow to come and worship the Lord. We must not be slow to witness for Him. Let’s remember God’s promise - ‘My Word...will not return to Me empty, but will...achieve the purpose for which I sent it’- and let’s say - ‘Here am I. Send me!’(Isaiah 55:11; Isaiah 6:8). ‘The Spirit came into me... Do not be afraid of them or their words’(Ezekiel 2:2,6). Through the Spirit, we receive wisdom - ‘We have received the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand what God has freely given us’- and strength - ‘God strengthens us with power through His Spirit in our inner being’(1 Corinthians 2::12; Ephesians 3:16). ‘Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart... Be Thou my Wisdom, Thou my true Word... Be Thou my Battleshield, sword for the fight’(Church Hymnary, 87).

The Beauty Of God's Admission Price

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Isa 55:1

The beauty of God's love, presence, peace, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, healing, and every other promise of God. It's free and Jesus already paid for it.

He Painted The Sky's With Beauty

When God created the heaven's he painted the sky's with beauty. It is simply awing to look at the universe and see all that God has created. Endlessly beautiful, colorful and amazing. However God didn't stop there.

You too are a masterpiece of creation, created in the image and likeness of God. Now that's some amazing DNA.

The True Vine & The Husbandman

Jhn 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Jhn 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

His Soon Return

Jesus is coming! It's been stated endless times over the last almost 2000 years and prior. Yet he came, lived a sinless live, died a ransomed for many, was resurrected and ascended to heaven.

Jesus is coming soon! I want to repeat that. Jesus is coming soon.

Now the question is, what do you believe? Is he coming soon? Are you watching for His return? Do you believe that the prophecies leading up to his second return have been fulfilled or are fast being fulfilled?

Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

The Holy Spirit Leads Us Into A Life Of Worship.

‘I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live’ (Psalm 104:33). Do you feel like giving up? Other things are becoming more important to you. Worshipping the Lord is being pushed out to the edge of your life. Wrong attitudes are creeping in. It starts with the idea, ‘Worship’s just an hour on a Sunday’. Then, it becomes, ‘I’ll worship the Lord when I feel like it’. It soon becomes, ‘I’ll worship the Lord when I’ve nothing better to do’. Before long, all desire for worshipping the Lord has gone! Little-by-little, you are drifting away from the Lord. It’s time to start thinking about what’s happening. It’s time for a new beginning. It’s time for an ‘all my life’ commitment to worshipping the Lord - not just on a Sunday, not only when I feel like it, not only ‘when there’s nothing better to do’!

Jesus At The Home of Martha And Mary

Jesus had a meal at the home of Martha and Mary. We can compare this meal to the Lord's Supper. Martha concentrated on the meal. Mary concentrated on the Lord. In the Lord's Supper, we have bread and wine. That's not all that we have. There's more than bread and wine. There's Jesus. Jesus came to the home of Martha and Mary. In Mary, we see what it means to come to the Lord. We are to come to Him with a deep desire to be near to Him. The Lord has come to us. Let us come to Him. Let us come to Him with humility, confessing that we have sinned against Him. Let us come to Him with thanksgiving, rejoicing that that our Lord Jesus Christ has borne our sins so that we might receive His salvation. Let us come to Him with a hungry heart, longing that we may be fed by Him. Let us come with dedication, committing our lives to the Lord that we might live as His disciples. Let us come to Him with praise, giving glory to the Lord for all that he has done for us. Let us do "the one thing needful": Come to Jesus Come to Him with humility, with thanksgiving, with a hungry heart, with dedication, with praise.

Jesus Loves You. Let His Love Change You.

As we read about Jesus, the centurion and the centurion's servant, we learn about love, faith and hope - the love of Jesus, the faith of the centurion and hope for the centurion's servant.
(1) The love of Jesus
In Jesus' miracles of healing, we see love. It is the greatest love of all. It is the love of God. Jesus loved the centurion. Jesus loved the centurion's servant. He loves you. He loves me. He loves us with a perfect love. He loves us with an everlasting love. His love changes us. We see this in the story the centurion and his servant. This is a story which invites us to be changed by the love of Jesus.

Human Love And Divine Love

When I am conducting a wedding service, I speak to the couple about two kinds of love - human love and divine love. I emphasize that our love for one another grows stronger when it is grounded in God's love for us. Jesus speaks about human love and divine love. he tells us that we are to "love our enemies" (Luke 6:27). He tells us that our love for our enemies is to be grounded in God's love for sinners: "The Most High is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful" (Luke 6:35-36). God has shown His love for us. We are to show His love to others. While we were His enemies - sinners who had rebelled against Him, He loved us and gave His Son to die on the cross for us as our Saviour.

Our Lack Of Love, Christ's Perfect Love

Matthew 5:38-48

The Pharisees lived by law. Jesus lived by love. The law of God - ‘holy and just and good’ (Romans 7:12) - had been distorted by the religious hypocrites. They were saying, ‘love your neighbour and hate your enemy’ (43). ‘Love your neighbour’ is found in Leviticus 19:18. ‘Hate your enemy’ is not found in the Old Testament. For the Jews, ‘neighbour’ meant their own kind. They wrongly concluded that Gentiles were to be hated. Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan makes it clear that we are to love our enemies as well as our friends (Luke 10:25-37). Jesus’ disagreement is not with the law of God. It is with man’s misuse of it. Jesus’ teaching is simple - Love is not to be limited. It is demanding - love is all-embracing. We dare not bring love within our reach. We always fall short. We can only come to Christ. Confessing our lack of love and trusting in His perfect love, we learn to love.

“Look to the Lord … “

Look to the the Lord. Let His perfect love cast out your fear.

———————

Job 23:8-24:5
Satan is working overtime! He is filling Job with fear. In his state of deep depression, Job says, “God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me; for I am hemmed in by darkness, and thick darkness covers my face’ (23:16-17). Where do these thoughts come from? Do they come from the Lord? No! They come from Satan! This is not ‘the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom’ (Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 1:7). It is a very different kind of fear, a fear which comes from Satan. How are we to overcome this fear? When depression threatens to overwhelm us, what are we to do? Look to the Lord. He ‘has not given us a spirit of fear’. He has given us His ‘Spirit of power and love’. He gives us ‘a sound mind’. Look to the Lord. Let His ‘perfect love cast out your fear’ (2 Timothy 1:7; 1 John 4:18).

"When We Sin ... "

When we sin, we must trust in our Redeemer. Be still and know that He is God.
-----
Job 34:21-35:16
‘If you have sinned’ (35:6). Let’s think about Job, Jesus and ourselves. (a) ‘Job feared God and shunned evil’ (1:1). He was not being singled out for special punishment - because he was much more sinful than anyone else. This does not mean he had never sinned (7:21; 13:26). (b) There is only One Man ‘without sin’ - our Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14-16). Did this mean that Jesus did not suffer? No! - ‘He suffered for us...He bore our sins...He died for us...He died for our sins’ (1 Peter 2:21-24; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3). (c) There’s no ‘if’ about it! When we sin - What are we to do? Like Job, we must trust in our ‘Redeemer’ - the Lord Jesus Christ (19:25). He gives ‘quietness’ and ‘songs in the night’ (34:29; 35:10). ‘Be still and know that He is God. Shout for joy to Him’ (Psalms 46:10; 98:4).

Making A Huge Difference

Can be as simple as spending time with someone in need.

inhisgloriousnameministriesonline.blogspot.com

Even In Our Wanderings, God Is Waiting, In Mercy, For Us To Make Our Way Back To Him.

In the story of Cain, we see the development of sin. Jealousy leads to anger, and anger leads to murder. In this story, we see ourselves in the ‘mirror’ of God’s Word. Here, God emphasizes our exceeding sinfulness - ‘The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt’ (Jeremiah 17:9). Our sinfulness leads us away from ‘the presence of the Lord’ to ‘the land of wandering (Nod)’ (Genesis 4:16). This is the work of Satan in our lives - Genesis 4 is an extension of Genesis 3. Even in the land of wandering, the hand of God is upon us. This is the meaning of ‘the mark of Cain’ - ‘so that no one who found him would kill him’ (Genesis 4:15). Even in our wanderings, God is waiting in mercy for us to make our way back to Him by coming in faith to Jesus Christ our Saviour. Even when ‘sin’ is a good bit more than ‘crouching at the door’, it can be ‘mastered’ through Christ (Genesis 4:6; Hebrews 7:25).

The Return Of God’s Blessing Begins With A Real Confession Of Sin.

The return of God’s blessing begins with a real confession of sin - ‘our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens’ (Ezra 9:6). If God chooses to bless us, it is not because we deserve to be blessed by Him. It is because He loves us and wants more than anything else to pour out His blessing upon us. Despite all of our sin, God’s Word encourages us to believe that the Lord may yet ‘grant us a little reviving’. Pray that God will ‘grant us some reviving to set up the House of our God’ (Ezra 9:8-9). This was Ezra’s prayer. It was the prayer of ‘a very great assembly of men, women and children’ (Ezra 10:1). If prayer for revival is real, it will be much more than pulpit prayer. There will be much prayer, arising from the hearts of many people: ‘If My people pray... I will heal their land’ (2 Chronicles 7:14).

The Prophetic Ministry

Have Faith

It's In Your DNA

God Says, 'I Am The Lord.' Let Him Be 'Your God.'

God says, 'I am the Lord' (Leviticus 22:30-33): Let Him be 'your God' (Leviticus 23:14, 22, 28, 40, 43,). We are to 'worship in Spirit and in truth' - 'in the Spirit on the Lord's Day' (John 4:24; Revelation 1:10) When Christ died - This was the day of atonement. We worship Him, 'our Passover Lamb' (Leviticus 22:28; Exodus 12:13; 1 Corinthians 5:7-8). After 'fifty days' came the Day of Pentecost - What a day that was (Acts 2:4,16-21,41)! Bring 'the first fruits of your harvest' (Leviticus 23:9): 'What can I give Him? - my heart' (Church Hymnary, 178). Blow the trumpet (23:23; Joel 2:1,15) - It must be a 'clear call': 'Get ready for battle' (1 Corinthians 14:8). On the 'day of worship' (Leviticus 23:3), God is preparing us for the rest of the week: 'Be strong in the Lord' (Ephesians 6:12). Pray for the 'fire' of God (Leviticus 23:8, 18, 25, 27, 36-37; Acts 2:3-4).

"God's love ... "

God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

‘He brought His people out like a flock; He led them like sheep through the desert’ (52). The Lord brought His people out of Egypt. He brought them safely through the wilderness to ‘His holy land’ (42-43,51,54-55). He did great things for Israel. He does great things for us - ‘He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake’ (23:3). Through faith in our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we have ‘peace with God’. Our sins have been forgiven. We now ‘stand’ in His ‘grace’. In our new life with Him, there will be times of ‘suffering’. None of us is exempt from suffering. It comes to all of us - without exception. In your suffering, remember this: We will not be disappointed in ‘our hope of sharing the glory of God’ - ‘God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit...’ (Romans 5:1-5).

Look For The Blessing Of God In The Place Of Worship.

Without the blessing of God, our worship is empty. We must look for God’s blessing in the place of worship. What we must pray for is this: ‘the glory of the Lord filled the House of God’ (2 Chronicles 5:14). We must look for God’s blessing in the pulpit, praying that the preachers of God’s Word will be ‘clothed with salvation’. We must look for God’s blessing in the pews, praying that all of God’s people will ‘rejoice in His goodness’ (2 Chronicles 6:41). Where does the blessing come from? - It comes from this: God is ‘good’ and ‘His steadfast love endures for ever’ (2 Chronicles 5:13). All of our praying for the Church can be summed up in this prayer: ‘O Lord God... Remember Your steadfast love...’ (2 Chronicles 6:42). More than anything else, we must pray for this: ‘God’s love... poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit...’ (Romans 5:5).

Let Us Dedicate Ourselves To The Lord Today.

Some servants of the Lord complete their ministry without seeing their vision becoming a reality. This is what happened to David. He had the initial idea - ‘I had my heart set on building the Temple...’. He had begun thinking about how the Temple could be built - ‘I made preparations for building’. It was not to be - ‘God said to me, “You may not build a House for My Name”’. This was not, however, God’s last Word to David. There was also a Word of hope - ‘It is Solomon your son who shall build My House’ (1 Chronicles 28:2-3,6). Solomon was ‘young and inexperienced’. He was taking on a huge task. He needed God’s Word of encouragement - ‘...the Lord God is with you...’. He needed the support of the people - ‘all the people will be wholly at your command’. Let us ‘dedicate ourselves to the Lord today’ (1 Chronicles 28:20-29:1,5).

"Look To The Lord ... "

Look to the Lord for help. Pray that the Lord's Name will be glorified.
------
We look at what's going on in our world today. We hear the enemies of the Lord saying, "Where is their God?" So many people are turning away from the Lord. They no longer worship Him. We wonder if things can be turned around. It would be so easy to give up and go the way of the world. This is what we must not do. We must keep on praying - "How long, O Lord? Will You be angry for ever?" We must look to the Lord for help - "Help us, O God of our salvation." We must look to "our Saviour" for deliverance and forgiveness. We must pray that the Lord's Name will be glorified. How is the Name of the Lord to be glorified in today's world? It must begin with us - "We, Your people, the flock which You shepherd, will give thanks to You forever. We will praise You throughout every generation" (Psalm 79:5 , 9-10, 13).

"Don't Be Like The Proud Pharisee ... "

Don't be like the proud Pharisee - "God, I thank you that I am not like other men."

--------------------

This thought is taken from

Ecclesiastes 7:1-29

"Do not be over-righteous and do not be over-wise" (16). Christ is "our righteousness and our wisdom" (1 Corinthians 1:30). We must not take pride in our own righteousness or our own wisdom. We must not be like the arrogant "Pharisee": "God, I thank you that I am not like other men..." If we get "too big for our boots", we may be "brought down to earth with a bump"! This is what God says to those who think they're wise: "Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" (Luke 18:11-12; 1 Corinthians 1:20). We do not make ourselves righteous. We do not make ourselves wise. "Through faith in Jesus Christ", we receive "God's righteousness." We become "wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:21-26; 2 Timothy 3:14-17).
